Voluntourism
So many travelers today are seeking ways to enrich their travel experience and have a lasting impact on local communities. Through the Palapa Society’s partnership with Todos Santos Eco Adventures (tosea.net), an easy, yet powerful way to do just that has emerged. Guests visiting Todos Santos are always thrilled with the opportunity to volunteer as a language mentor or participate in a broad range of programs. It adds such a meaningful dimension to their travel experience, and long after they’ve returned home they feel a strong, positive connection with our community.
The Palapa programs are well established and run on a defined schedule, so it is a simple matter to coordinate volunteer opportunities for visiting adults and children. In addition, as a growing company based in a very small town, T. S. Eco Adventures is always struggling to find motivated, bilingual staff. The Palapa Society is a huge support in producing that talented workforce, so connecting them with English-language mentors is ultimately an investment in our own future and that of the town.
The Palapa Learning Center, located on Calle Huerto on the south end of Todos Santos, is the headquarters of The Palapa Society of Todos Santos, A. C. It is home to the Palapa School, Adult Library, Children’s Library, English language programs for children and adults, and children’s art classes. Even if your stay in Todos Santos is limited, there are several on-going activities that would welcome your participation. Come meet members of the community, make new friends, and enrich your visit to our Pueblo Magico.
