 As you know, The Palapa Society started over 15 years ago as a scholarship program, and thanks to your generosity, continues to be a primary focus for our fundraising efforts. The Beca scholarship program ensures every young person in our community has access to quality education, whether at public school, The Palapa School, or at University. With scholarships, students are given the opportunity to discover and maximize their full potential, as they prepare to become future pillars in our community. Congratulations AFS Scholarship Recipient
 We are proud to announce that Palapa School ninth-grader Paola Parra Leggs was selected to receive the American Field Service (AFS) scholarship to study technology and environmental care in Cairo, Egypt this summer. Our Social Sciences teacher Ana Castillo discovered this scholarship and motivated three of our students to apply. Watch for an interview with Paola in a future issue of this newsletter, to learn about her month-long experience in this cradle of civilization. Fall 2019 Enrollment Underway
Applications for The Palapa School Secundaria enrollment (middle school, grades 7-9) are available now at the school’s main office. Interviews and testing will take place May 18-25. The Palapa School offers an expanded SEP-certified curriculum that not only meets Federal Government education requirements, but offers a more advanced course of study.
