In 2017, The Palapa Society made their dream of providing high-quality education to local students a reality with the opening of The Palapa School Secundaria. This school delivers a rigorous SEP (Secretaría Educación Pública) certified curriculum and encourages students to learn, think, and create differently. In addition to academic excellence, after school clubs such as leadership, science, and music provide opportunities for students to pursue and develop their unique talents and interests. The school also offers science fairs, field trips, and participation in local events to encourage students to excel and connect with the world beyond the classroom.
The Palapa School Secundaria has a highly skilled and dynamic teaching staff who guide young learners in mastering academic skills with a strong emphasis on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) through engaging learning experiences and integrated approaches to core subjects. The school’s top-of-the-line science lab was made possible through targeted donations from science-loving donors.
The Secundaria experience not only lays the foundation for a love of learning but also builds essential academic competence. In 2019, The Palapa School Secundaria celebrated the graduation of their first class, and all students went on to become the first class for Palapa Preparatoria. This is a testament to the school’s commitment to providing high-quality education and preparing students for a successful future.
