Todos Santos Music Festival 2016 Line-Up Announced
The Hotel California and Vaso Loco, LLC, a company founded by guitarist Peter Buck, present the fifth annual Todos Santos Music Festival, a two-week music event benefiting The Palapa Society, A.C. The festival, held in Todos Santos at the legendary Hotel California and in the historic Town Plaza, will take place on January 14-16 & 20-23, 2016. The two-week lineup, curated by Peter Buck, features artists spanning the rock, alt-country, and Latin genres.
Week 1, January 14-16, 2016
– Special return guest performers include multi-instrumentalist quartet The Autumn Defense featuring Wilco members Pat Sansone and John Stirratt, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur, acclaimed musician and songwriter Chuck Prophet, Dream Syndicate bandleader Steve Wynn, Scott McCaughey from Minus 5, alternative country pioneers Old 97’s and vocalist-guitarist Kevn Kinney of Drivin’ N Cryin’.
– Additional performances include the return of Mexico City’s alternative rock band Torreblanca and first time festival artists Tigria; the debut of Filthy Friends, a collaboration between Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney and Peter Buck; sets by FRANKIE, an indie, all-female dream rock band from Vancouver; and performances from Mark Eitzel, founding member of the American Music Club; and very special performances from Jeff Tweedy, lead singer and guitarist of Wilco.
Week 2, January 20-24, 2016
– Special return guest performers include 2014 Grammy Award-winning Latin quartet La Santa Cecilia, revered storytellers and root rockers Drive-By Truckers, alternative country pioneers The Jayhawks, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur, acclaimed musician and songwriter Chuck Prophet, Dream Syndicate bandleader Steve Wynn, Scott McCaughey from Minus 5, and vocalist-guitarist Kevn Kinney of Drivin’ N Cryin’.
– Critically acclaimed alternative rockers Death Cab for Cutie will also join the festival for the first time.
The popular Local Music Showcase, will return on Wednesday, January 20, 2016. The showcase will feature emerging artists from the Southern Baja community.
